Bootcamp is wonderful!!! Before I started I thaught to myself how in world am i going to lose the weight that I want to lose. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. I worked out at home, but it wasn’t the same, I would just give up. Bootcamp is so much fun to go to, you can hang out with friends and lose weight at the same time. Its a variety of different workouts , so its working every part of your body, I mean every part! Before I started I felt yukkie! I didn’t have any confidence in myself, I didn’t want to do anything, I felt lazy , but after doing 2 weeks of bootcamp my confidence is coming back and I feel soooooooooo much better. My goal for going to bootcamp is to lose at least 20 lbs and I know bootcamp can help me reach my goals. Thank you Joe!!!

I like having to be held accountable to work out. It’s so easy to say, "I’ll do it later, or tomorrow". Having a set schedule, forces me to get this workout in. I needed a change of pace. I usually walk, run, or ride bike and was getting into a rut. Bootcamp is a totally new workout for me. Every session is a little different. I like the fact that I’m doing exercises and toning muscles that I never worked on before. Doing it in a group takes a little pressure off, but you still have Joe if you need assistance or more direction on proper technique. And I am finding that I’m already feeling a little stonger. Squats still hurt, but are getting easier!

The first thing that I already see changing is my view on working out. I actually look forward to going to boot camp. Anytime that I need to miss a class I actually feel like I am missing part of my new routine and that I may be missing out on getting results.
In my personal life I would like to change the fact that I go to bed so late. I recognize the importance of getting 8 hours of sleep a night in order for you body to recover and to enhance your metabolism furthering weight loss abilities.
The third thing I would like to see a change in is my weekend habits. I am sure most people can relate that there may be a little bit more imbibing going on during this part of the week. Beer and food are my friends on the weekends. One of the things that will be hard for me is that I am going on vacation on Sunday and will be missing bootcamp for a few days. I hope that I can make some smart choices while on vacation so that when I get back it doesn’t feel like I am going back to square one with working out. I am planning on eating right and not "imbibing" too much, and I am also bringing my gym shoes with. Wish me luck!

The thing that keeps me the most motivated are the results. I am excited to see myself at the end of the summer. I am hoping to lose some pounds and tone my body. I joined gym about a year and a half and have not been as satisfied as I would like. I have actually gained weight and my clothes do not seem to fit differently. I go out to eat 2 times a month if that. I can’t wait to see the results at the end of the summer. I am hoping to look and feel better.

I found it pretty easy to come up with three things in my life I want to change, because for quite some time I have tried to accomplish certain goals and have fallen short a number of times.
#1…Consistent Excercise: Bootcamps help a lot with this because I feel a responsibility to be there because everyone else shows up, and Joe takes quite a chunk out of his free time to help everyone out, so the obligation to be there definitely is helping me attain this. I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights and getting stronger, but I have fallen short in consistently making it to the gym and getting intense workouts. It’s so easy to fall into a groove and then all of a sudden your not going at all.
#2…Diet: Lately I have been working quite hard on eating sensibly and not overeating. My first few years of college it was so easy to buy cheap garbage food or grab some fast food. I noticed it in my waist line more than anything. I think it’s very important to be very careful about what you eat and when you are eating it. Watching calories and eating healthy foods is a hard thing to incorporate into your lifestyle, but so necessary, especially when doing a program like this.

#3…Excuses! No more excuses. It’s so easy to think of a reason to eat out, or skip a workout. From here on out I want to eliminate those excuses in my life and hold myself accountable each time I try to justify something like that.
There is no sense working my ass off in boot camp if I go home and blow it on the weekend, or miss boot camp and do something unhealthy instead.
Boot Camp rocks and I’m excited for the next….89 days.

When we started planning our daughter’s wedding a year ago, I started down the old path of "having to lose weight for this wedding!" Argh – what a task! However, I never thought that I would see the results that I have seen from attending Joe’s boot camps. He makes it alot of fun, keeps us entertained (or maybe we keep him entertained), yet we do work hard during his sessions as well. I am excited to see final results after the VIP sessions are completed, and see where we end up after our assessments and personal training. I never thought someone my age would be attending a ‘boot camp’, but again, it’s been very exciting and alot of fun. I look forward to meeting up with friends and having a good time while we exercise! At a recent doctor’s appt, I have lowered my cholestrol by 45 points and lowered my blood sugar level. I have also seen my energy level increase. I can only attribute this to Joe’s boot camps – I can safely say "BOOT CAMP HAS BEEN GOOD FOR ME" .. . .Thanks Joe!.

I think improvement is essential to being a well-rounded person, so I decided a while ago that I need to change certain aspects of my life.
The first thing I want to change is actually already in process. I decided a few months back that I need to be more active, so I joined Snap Fitness and trained to run a 5K. After just a few months of running, I felt so good about the small change I’d already made that I committed to bootcamp, both the regular session and now the VIP version. So I’m happy to know that I’ve already committed to making a change, although I know I can be more active by doing other things in addition to bootcamp.
Another improvement I’m seeking is to eat better. Better is a pretty vague word but to me it means making smarter choices about what I put into my body without depriving myself of anything. By not depriving myself of certain foods, I know I need to employ self-control when eating sweets or unhealthy snacks. While I don’t consider myself a junk food addict or fast food junkie, I know that I can and should select better food options that will provide fuel for my body. I’ve always tried to eat balanced meals but haven’t always succeeded when temptation and convenience reign. I am working on being consciously aware of the fresh fruits and vegetables I ingest and how much (or little) I eat of them. I’ve also tried to become smarter about what I eat by reading nutrition labels and educating myself about the foods I should be eating and the appropriate amounts to consume.
Finally, I need to change how I spend my time, in that I would like to be more productive with my free time. While it’s definitely okay to relax and take a break every now and then, I feel like I could use my time more efficiently by working to achieve something every night, whether that is reading 10 pages in a book or organizing a closet. I am working on this change by making lists of what I need and want to get done and then checking each item off my list, which adds to my sense of accomplishment. I feel like these changes are completely attainable with a good attitude, will power and self-control, and I intend to make these changes.

I am finally down a couple numbers when I weighed my self this morning…which is always exciting!! The workouts and eating a little better are paying off! I was also noticing a difference in my abs. I was so excited I had to show them off.

Our first bootcamp assessment was a couple weeks ago~ we were weighed, measured, fat tested, and assessed on a few exercises. I am excited to see the results and see what bootcamp can do for me. I have done Joe’s bootcamps in the past and I didn’t do the (pre-measuring)~ so I am excited to see results.
My lifestyle for the most part has always been to be healthy. Eating right & exercising to stay healthy. (But I do have a sweet tooth) Diabetes, weight issues, high blood pressure and arthritis run in my family. My goal is to not have to deal with these issues later in life if I can prevent them now with good health habits.
Bootcamps have given me the opportunity to add strength training to my workout that I have never done in the past. I already feel stronger~ I couldn’t do ONE push up and now I can do a few of them ( girlie style of course) but never the less I can do them! I feel good, I have more energy and I love the bootcamp workouts! I work hard so sometimes I can treat that sweet tooth with something special now and again!
