The three things I want to change…

I think improvement is essential to being a well-rounded person, so I decided a while ago that I need to change certain aspects of my life.
The first thing I want to change is actually already in process. I decided a few months back that I need to be more active, so I joined Snap Fitness and trained to run a 5K. After just a few months of running, I felt so good about the small change I’d already made that I committed to bootcamp, both the regular session and now the VIP version. So I’m happy to know that I’ve already committed to making a change, although I know I can be more active by doing other things in addition to bootcamp.
Another improvement I’m seeking is to eat better. Better is a pretty vague word but to me it means making smarter choices about what I put into my body without depriving myself of anything. By not depriving myself of certain foods, I know I need to employ self-control when eating sweets or unhealthy snacks. While I don’t consider myself a junk food addict or fast food junkie, I know that I can and should select better food options that will provide fuel for my body. I’ve always tried to eat balanced meals but haven’t always succeeded when temptation and convenience reign. I am working on being consciously aware of the fresh fruits and vegetables I ingest and how much (or little) I eat of them. I’ve also tried to become smarter about what I eat by reading nutrition labels and educating myself about the foods I should be eating and the appropriate amounts to consume.
Finally, I need to change how I spend my time, in that I would like to be more productive with my free time. While it’s definitely okay to relax and take a break every now and then, I feel like I could use my time more efficiently by working to achieve something every night, whether that is reading 10 pages in a book or organizing a closet. I am working on this change by making lists of what I need and want to get done and then checking each item off my list, which adds to my sense of accomplishment. I feel like these changes are completely attainable with a good attitude, will power and self-control, and I intend to make these changes.
